WHY HEALTH ?

Good health is instrumental to a functional and thriving society. It is fundamental for human happiness, and overall well-being and has a significant impact on economic productivity, progress, and prosperity.

The overwhelming morbidity and mortality of all age groups – from preventable illnesses in children under the ages of 5 to insufficient antenatal and postpartum care of pregnant women, overwhelming complications of unethical traditional practices, to complications of undiagnosed or poorly managed chronic conditions in the middle-aged and elderly – especially in developing nations is one of the inspiring factors of the RSF health arm. RSF believes people should have access to available and affordable quality healthcare services and aims to mitigate these challenges by being a catalyst for the change we want in our community.

Some of the initiatives proffered to tackle these include; regular medical outreach to create awareness, provide health education for the people especially debunking myths and wrong trado-practices, while also giving free medical check up, consultation, diagnosis and treatments. RSF will also provide free medical supplies and equipment to propagate excellent healthcare delivery especially to grassroot health centers either individually or through partnerships. RSF will advocate and incentivize blood donation, promote routine health screening and vaccinations; and collaborate with the education arm to imbibe health care education programs in schools through first aid training, personal hygiene kits, and some basic life support skills.

Most developing nations are saddled with the epidemic of “brain drain” which leaves the already strained health personnel with a huge work burden and causes a higher burnout rate. As published in a renowned newspaper in 2022, Nigeria has a national average of one doctor available to treat 10,000 patients, while some southern states have as worse as one doctor to 30,000 and even 45,000 in others. RSF hopes to rewrite this narrative by advocating and appreciating health personnel and ancillary staff through a free training and reward initiative program that ignites the flames of a passion-driven health service delivery, which translates into excellent healthcare for the community.
